His rules for design are always broken in his work, he would let the typed lines run into each other, be upside down and many more things you wouldn't normally see like he would make the type and image so indistinguishable on the page.David Carson has never believed that you must know the rules to be able to break them.
He is not afraid to use blurred images, and he also uses a lot of bright colour and emotion in his work. He has and eye for symmetry and likes using clean lines to make his work simplistic.
David likes to go crazy with typography and push it to the limits, his text sometimes has a handwritten quality, then other times a strict typewriter font.
